As a parent, your questions will no doubt be, “Why is a Canadian school opening in Paris, and who is behind it?” The idea first came to me in 2011 when I realized that there were no schools offering a Canadian curriculum in France. Given our histories sharing a common language and cultural identity, it just didn’t make sense, and it didn’t seem right.
I believe the idea of Canada – the idea of a Canadian school in Paris – will appeal greatly to many French and international families. Why? Because Canada’s history has been defined by the coexistence of two of the world’s most important languages, and the tangible advantages a bilingual country provides to its citizens. For Canadian expats, the appeal is obvious. Canadian schools are recognized and sought after worldwide because of their academic excellence, their focus on students as individuals, and their commitment to building meaningful relationships with parents.
As the founder of the Canadian Bilingual School of Paris, I understand the tremendous opportunities that flow from a bilingual and bi-cultural educational experience – the Canadian experience. And that is what I wanted to bring to Paris. I couldn’t be more proud. I am so very excited to welcome you and your family to our School.
